Acer Inc. is a Taiwanese multinational hardware and electronic corporation based in Xizhi, New Taipei, Taiwan. Acer products include low-cost desktops and laptops, tablets, servers, storage devices, displays, smartphones, and external devices. It also offers e-commerce services for businesses, governments and consumers. Acer is the fourth largest PC manufacturer in the world.
In the early 2000s, Acer introduced a new business model that shifted from a manufacturer to a designer, retailer, and distributor of products while conducting production processes through contracted manufacturers.
In addition to its core business, Acer also has the largest franchise computer retail chain in Taiwan, Taiwan.
